Terms of use
Using powerplayunits.com means agreeing to these terms. They are short because the deal is simple: the pages are free to read, the email is the paid product, and the numbers are measurements published in good faith.
What the service is
Power Play Units measures NHL power-play deployment from publicly available shift charts and play-by-play, and publishes the results as pages and as email. Every page about a club or a player is free to read. What you pay for is the morning email and its archive of past editions — the terms are on the pricing page.
Accuracy — read this one
The figures are computed from the league’s published data, checked nightly, and corrected when the source corrects itself. They are still measurements of an imperfect feed, provided as is, with no warranty. This site is for information and entertainment — fantasy hockey included — and no figure here is a promise about what any player will do tonight. Decisions you make on these numbers are yours.
What this service is not
Power Play Units publishes measurements of what already happened. It runs no forecasting model, publishes no projected lineups, carries no market data of any kind, and sells no advice or recommendations. Nothing here is priced and nothing claims an advantage — the product is a record of deployment, delivered the morning it changes.
Subscriptions and billing
Payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout, on the prices shown on the pricing page. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; access runs to the end of the paid period. Cancelling billing and unsubscribing from the email are deliberately separate — the unsubscribe link in every email is authoritative for delivery, cancellation is authoritative for charges.
Your account
Sign-in links are personal; forwarding one signs the recipient in as you. One account is one reader — sharing a paid account's email digest around a fantasy league is the one thing that breaks the model that keeps every page free.
Using the numbers
Quote them. A figure from this site may be cited anywhere, with a link back to the page it came from. What is not allowed is wholesale republication of the site or automated scraping at a rate that degrades it for everyone else.
Not the NHL
Power Play Units is an independent publication, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Hockey League, its member clubs, or the NHL Players’ Association. Team and player names identify the subjects of factual reporting.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for losses arising from use of the site or reliance on its figures; total liability is capped at what you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
